I learned about the imperfections in the system, the flaws in human beings and the need for constant accountability to protect against injustices. Multiple laws recognized these issues and were passed in California in the wake of that reckoning including the California Racial Justice Act of For years, our office has trained on the concepts of explicit and implicit, or unconscious, bias with the goal of keeping those concepts in the forefront of our thoughts as we seek justice and equitable outcomes in every case we handle.
A: I am the only candidate in this race who has dedicated his entire professional career to fighting crime and protecting the public against our most violent offenders. I have a proven track record as a seasoned and ethical trial attorney, having tried 70 jury trials to verdict.
